Our Magento Development team is entering the new year with some new certifications. Derrik Nyomo, Senior Magento Developer, Matt Trimmer, Business Analyst, and Greg Crane, Magento Developer Intern, all recently earned new Magento certifications.
Our team is encouraged to constantly learn, stretch and grow through continuing their education and earning new certifications. This adds value to our team and makes us a qualified choice for clients.
As Matt said, “customers rely on us to be knowledgeable and experienced in Magento, and certifications help separate our team from other Magento solution partners. We have a detailed knowledge of the platform that allows us to not only set up and enable a customer’s site, but teach them how to use the software as well.”
Derrik’s most recent certification is Magento Solution Specialist. This marks his fourth Magento certification, a rare accomplishment. To prepare, Derrik relied on his trusty method of using the Magento study guide. Four Magento certifications and a Zend PHP certification is not enough for Derrik, however. He is planning on earning the MySQL Dev certification next.
Matt also earned the Solution Specialist certification. This is the first certification Magento has created for non-developer Magento users. Matt relied on his work experience to prepare for the test, especially his experience with the Magento admin panel. He got help from the rest of the Briteskies team as well.
“Members of the Briteskies Magento team had created a study guide based on the sample questions in Magento’s study guide, and reviewing those definitely helped with some of the concepts I was not familiar with.”
Update: Senior Magento Developer Jason Young also earned his Solution Specialist Certification. This adds to his two other Magento certifications and his Zend PHP certification.
Greg earned the Magento Front End Developer certification, his first. He prepared for the test with a lot of studying.
“I went through the study guide provided form the Magento website, went over the Magento design guide, signed up for the Magento U free course ‘Quick Start to Magento Customization,’ read up on other blogs and websites, and, most importantly, had a lot of real world experience with the Briteskies team.”
All of Greg’s hard work was certainly worth it, and he is now in the process of studying for the Magento Developer ++ Certification.
Congratulations Derrik, Matt and Greg on your accomplishments! Your hard work has paid off and will benefit not just the Briteskies team, but clients as well.
