A Day in the Life of an ERP Sales Specialist
As an ERP Sales Specialist, Nate Schnieders is constantly on the lookout for new opportunities. His day is filled with prospecting for leads through job posts, outbound calls, LinkedIn connections, and inbound inquiries. Nate is often the first point of contact for ERP clients and enjoys building relationships with decision makers. Sales is where he thrives, using his natural social skills to clearly articulate how Briteskies services can support and enhance client platforms.
Why Briteskies Feels Like Home
What Nate loves most about working at Briteskies is the camaraderie among the team. Since joining the company, he has felt like an important part of the culture and takes pride in generating new deals that keep projects moving forward. Providing meaningful work for the development team is something he values deeply, and it helps Briteskies run smoothly and bring out the best in everyone.
Finding the Right Fit
Nate began his career in sales right out of high school, starting in the insurance industry where he quickly learned the fundamentals. After realizing his strengths went far beyond follow‑the‑script selling, he found success by focusing on authentic conversations and confidence. Over the years, he refined his skills selling gas and electric contracts for an energy broker and advanced quickly. When growth opportunities leveled off, Nate chose to look for the right fit rather than the next role, which ultimately led him to Briteskies. Although entering a new industry came with challenges, the supportive IBM i community and collaborative environment made it an exciting and rewarding transition.
The Best Part of the Job
Trade shows such as COMMON POWERUp are a highlight of Nate’s role. These events allow him to showcase what he has learned while building strong relationships with industry leaders. Meeting people face to face and turning those connections into real projects is one of the most rewarding aspects of his job.
Projects That Stand Out
Any project that begins with an in-person interaction makes Nate especially proud. While much of his work happens over the phone, closing deals through trade shows and personal connections brings a different sense of accomplishment and keeps him energized.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of the office, Nate is a self-described water sports enthusiast and enjoys just about anything involving a board, whether it takes place on the water or in the mountains. He has recently taken up golf and admits it has quickly turned into an obsession. Skydiving is high on his bucket list, and if he could have dinner with anyone, it would be Post Malone, thanks to his music, humor, and fun-loving personality.
The Briteskies Vibe
When asked to describe Briteskies culture in one word, Nate chose compassionate. His advice to anyone starting in sales is simple. Study consistently and continue learning. What motivates him every day is seeing deals come together and knowing his work makes a direct impact on the team and the company’s success.
