A Day in the Life of an Adobe Commerce Architect

As an Adobe Commerce Architect, I help design and guide the development of powerful eCommerce solutions that support our clients’ business goals. My day starts early—after waking up, I make breakfast for my kids, which gives me a moment of calm before diving into a fast-paced workday. Coffee is definitely a big part of my routine and keeps me going throughout the day.

A typical workday includes:

  • Morning Stand-Ups: Quick team check-ins to make sure everyone’s aligned and any issues are addressed early.
  • Client Meetings: I work closely with our functional team and clients to understand their needs and help shape the right solutions for their business.
  • Team Collaboration: I support our development team throughout the day, helping them solve problems and stay on track.
  • Technical Audits & Solution Design: I conduct in-depth audits of existing systems and lead the design of robust, future-proof commerce architectures.
  • Code Reviews: I make sure the work we deliver is clean, efficient, and reliable.
  • Working with Adobe Support: I stay in touch with Adobe to resolve platform issues and keep up with new features and best practices.
  • Commerce Strategy Sessions: I join strategic discussions to help clients grow and evolve their commerce platforms.
  • Quick Response to Client Needs: I stay flexible and responsive, jumping in to help when something urgent comes up.

My role is a mix of leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration—making sure we deliver great results while keeping things running smoothly.

Why Briteskies Feels Like Home

What I love most about working at Briteskies is the culture. It’s more than just a set of values, it’s something we live every day.

From day one, I felt the impact of our shared values. We genuinely care about our customers, approaching every challenge with empathy and a drive to deliver the best solution. That same spirit carries into how we work together—there’s no ego, just a team that’s all in, supporting one another and celebrating each other’s wins.

The good vibes are real, and they’re backed by serious expertise across creative, functional, and technical domains. It’s a place where trust, talent, and teamwork come together in the best way. And let’s be honest, Wednesday lunches might be the secret sauce that keeps us all going. Nothing brings a team together like good food and a little midweek laughter. Add to that our endless curiosity and a “get sh!t done” mindset, and you’ve got a culture that’s not just fun to be part of—it’s one that pushes you to grow and do your best work every day.

From Buttons to Big Solutions

I’ve always been drawn to anything with a screen and buttons—so IT was basically destiny. As for Briteskies, where else can you find a buffet of challenges like an agency with multiple clients, each bringing their own flavor of chaos? It’s like a developer’s playground… with deadlines.

The Best Part of the Job

The real-world experience you gain from solving actual eCommerce problems. It’s like leveling up in a video game, except the boss fights are cart abandonment and weird API errors.

Projects That Make Me Proud

We built an sFTP integration unit for a client who specifically requested it. Sure, I was a little heartbroken it wasn’t a sleek REST API, but we made it rock-solid. It barely needs support and never breaks.

Fun Facts & Quirky Skills

What's a fun fact about you that most people don't know?  I can pull off a surprisingly spot-on Donald Duck impression—especially when he's in a mood. But sorry grown-ups, this act is strictly for the kids. No exceptions… unless there’s coffee involved.

Off the Clock Adventures

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work? Video games are my ultimate escape, and PlayStation is my battlefield of choice. God of War? Absolute masterpiece. Kratos is basically my spirit animal—just without most of the rage issues.

If you could have dinner with any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Easy—Keanu Reeves. The man, the myth, the John Wick! I’d probably just sit there in stunned silence while he dropped bits of wisdom and looked effortlessly cool doing it.

What’s one item on your bucket list? Visiting Japan—between the rich culture, incredible food, and endless anime, it’s pretty much my ultimate dream destination.

The Briteskies Vibe

How would you describe the company culture in one word?
Compassionate—with a heavy emphasis on passion. It’s like working with a team of super-smart best friends who actually like solving problems together.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting in your role?
Secure an unlimited coffee subscription. You’ll need it. Bonus points if your mug holds more than 16oz.

What motivates you to do your best work every day?
Knowing that the client is getting a solution that’s not just functional, but tailor-made for their needs. It’s like being a tech-savvy fairy godparent—minus the wand, plus a keyboard.

Lightning Round: Briteskies Edition

  • Coffee or Tea? COFFEE. Obviously. The only correct answer. Tea is just leaf soup.
  • Early Bird or Night Owl? Early Bird by force (thanks toddlers). Night owl by poor life choices. Basically I'm running on caffeine and chaos.
  • Favorite Book or Movie? I don't read unless subtitles count. But the John Wick Series? Absolute cinematic perfection. 11/10 would avenge a dog again.
  • Dream Travel Destination? I’d love to go back to Egypt—pyramids, history, and heat that makes you question your life choices. It is totally worth it.
