bill_and_familyRole: Managing Director – which gets me involved in just about everything that happens at Briteskies

With Briteskies Since: January 2000

Favorite Part of the Job: While we are very focused on technology, I think my favorite thing is to solve business challenges for our clients.

Proudest Moment While Working at Briteskies: Personally – My youngest, Kevin, was born in 2002.  Professionally – There are so many, I cannot pick just one. It’s rewarding when we make an impact on our client’s projects and businesses; adding new capabilities or improving business processes. Also, I’ve seen so many people stretch themselves, and really grow while part of the Briteskies family. So, in general, I’m proudest when we make an impact on the lives of our clients, our employees, and our vendor partners.

Hobbies and Interests: I have so many different things that I enjoy, including travel – almost anytime and almost anywhere and especially with my family; reading a good murder mystery novel; running for both exercise and the occasional race; Scouting events with all of my kids; and most importantly, enjoying life every day.

Do you have a hidden talent? There are lots of things that I try that not many people know about – none of these could be considered a talent.

What is one thing you cannot live without? My family (my wife and three children), they give me a foundation and a sense of purpose.  I enjoy every minute I can spend with them.

Where is your favorite place on Earth? As much as I love to travel, I really have two favorite places. First, Sunset Beach, NC, for my annual family quasi-reunion. There’s lots of sun, sand, family and very limited commercialization – what’s not to love? Second is most any island in the Caribbean, and especially St John, USVI (and specifically Honeymoon Beach).

What was your first concert?  Rush, Moving Pictures tour at the old Richfield Coliseum.

What are three things that people may not know about you?

  1. First, I grew up in eastern Ohio, working on my neighbor’s dairy farm, milking cows, shoveling crap, plowing fields, and living the life of a farmer.
  2. Second, I had a short stint in the National Guard and had the (very) fun experience of M-48 battle tanks.
  3. Third, I’ve run and completed two full marathons – the first time to prove that I could do it and the second to ensure it was not a fluke.

What can always cheer you up or make you laugh? I have a dear friend, who is more like a brother, and he always brightens my day and can make me laugh anytime.

What is the craziest or weirdest job you’ve ever had? Working the drive-thru on the night shift at Burger King – there are some *%&$ crazy people at that time of night.

What would be the title of your autobiography? Enjoy the Journey

What is the best meal you have ever had? Fish Tacos at Rowdy Joes, on St Croix, USVI – I keep trying to find another place that can replicate the experience and flavors, but nothing yet. They also have the best homemade ice cream ever – it’s amazingly good after an afternoon of a sailing and snorkeling.
