Teacher Brian Mooney asked students to link themes in Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye and Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly, then they created poems, rap lyrics, and essays about the work. Kendrick Lamar heard about this lesson and came to visit the school.
