JD Edwards Solutions Currently on IBM i Support

Dave Balser

For companies running JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or World on the IBM i, updates to the IBM OS can cause concerns about the ability to run JDE software without errors and unexpected results. If you're running JD Edwards and aren't updating your IBM i OS due to uncertainties around the effects it will have on your ERP, use the information provided by IBM below to find out if your system is supported.

IBM i 7.5 and JD Edwards Supported Versions

IBM's latest announcement confirms that IBM i users running JD Edwards ERPs are welcome, and encouraged, to update their IBM i operating system to 7.5. EnterpriseOne Tools release and JD Edwards World A9.4 are both certified to run on IBM i OS 7.5.

While access to remote databases will require PTFs installs for E1 users, customers running the current version of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne can also run the latest version of the IBM i OS, 7.5.

IBM i 7.4 and JD Edwards Supported Versions

Users running EnterpriseOne Tools release 9.2.5 or higher and World users running A9.3 update 1 or A9.4 are now also certified to run on IBM i 7.4.

POWER9 Hardware and JD Edwards

IBM has also announced that the POWER9 processor supports JDE solutions assuming users are running IBM i 7.2 OS or later, and equivalent supported JD Edwards versions of EnterpriseOne or World.
