Magento announces the release of the latest version of Community
Magento Community Edition 1.8 addresses some of the critical needs of an organization looking to enter the online marketplace or increase their eCommerce presence. Once again, Magento has demonstrated their commitment to the growing community of Magento developers, merchants and end users.
According to Kris Brown, Magento Certified Developer, Developer Plus and Front End Developer, three noteworthy items included in this release are:
1) Reddis is now installed into Core which will result in speed enhancements
2) Bugathon from the spring work was included in this version
3) This should be the last major community release on the 1.x handle
