Favorite Part of the Job: Go-Live. Nothing is quite as exciting as a customer getting their brand new shop up and running.

Proudest Moment While Working at Briteskies: Even though I had only been with the team for a month, most of the work I had been doing was for this one specific storefront: Gayle’s Chocolates. Having come in on the last month or two of the project, my only work with it was small tweaks to the styling, fixing a few hard to find errors, and making sure the shop was an amazing experience for their customers. My proudest moment was launch day. It launched without a hitch and to very quiet fan-fare in the office, but it was definitely my proudest moment – watching that lovely, brand new storefront go live.

Hobbies and Interests: I’m a programmer at heart, so in my spare time I contribute code to two places: the open source community and a Minecraft Server Network I joined the team of over two years ago. In addition to that, I have a fond place in my heart for traditional Japanese culture: Taiko, Kyodo, Shodo, Tea Ceremonies – and of course traditional dress!

If you could have a song play every time you entered a room, what song would it be? I have commonly joked with my friends that if I were, say, a Pokémon Gym Leader, the song Atomic Bonsai by Joren “Tensei” de Bruin would be my battle music.

What was your first concert? A fun fact about me: I have never attended a musical concert. However, I have played in several. During my years in Bowling Green State University I played a Taiko drum as part of the Hayabusa Taiko Ensemble which performs at World Percussion Night, BGSU’s Cherry Blossom Festival: Ohanami, and private events.

What or who is your spirit animal? My spirit animal has to be the duck-billed platypus of Australia.  I don’t really have a good reason as to why – but I connect with the interesting mammal on a spiritual level.
