We are excited to be participating in and presenting at a Tri-State Regional Users Group (TRUG) event this month. The Tri-State Local Users Group serves the Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and World user communities in Northern Kentucky, Southern Ohio, and Central and Southern Indiana. The event allows fellow JDE users to exchanging information and ideas surrounding JD Edwards software and services.
At the upcoming event, we will be sharing our integration of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Magento Enterprise Edition for a B2B eCommerce company, Carlstar. We have talked with a lot of customers in the B2B space, and they commonly struggle to find a software that works well with JDE. Often, either the eCommerce platform is difficult to use or the integration is too challenging.
We have found success in leveraging Magento eCommerce with JD Edwards Business Services for B2B eCommerce integrations, as the two platforms use existing functionality to seamlessly integrate and create a better B2B eCommerce experience for shoppers. We are so excited to be speaking at this event so that we can share what we’ve learned through JD Edwards and Magento integration projects, specifically our integration for Carlstar
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Magento Enterprise Edition Integration Project
Carlstar, a B2B distribution company, had an existing implementation of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne that was loosely integrated with Magento Enterprise for the purpose of providing their customers with a B2B eCommerce experience. They liked working with Magento because of its marketing capabilities, ease of use, and customer experience, however their existing integration was giving them issues.
In order to keep using EnterpriseOne for sales order processing and Magento to provide their customers a better shopping experience and their marketing team better features and capabilities to sell to customers, our team took on the project and began correcting the integration.
Our integration strategy involved leveraging JDE Business Services to easily pass data back and forth between the two systems. This allows JDE to be the single source of the truth and the sole keeper of the data, preventing data duplication. This keeps the data flowing between the necessary B2B integration points.
This solution allowed Carlstar to maintain their existing software and leverage it to create a smoother integration without the need for custom code or duplicated data.
