We love Magento’s marketing capabilities and have customized and leveraged them for all different types of clients. During a recent eCommerce implementation project, however, our client decided that they wanted a more advanced marketing option than what Magento had to offer. While configurations could have been made to the existing marketing tools, in this situation the client had an aggressive marketing plan that required a more involved platform. So, our team worked to implement the Listrak marketing automation module for our client.

Magento is a powerful framework, but sometimes it isn’t the easiest to figure out. As someone new to Magento 2 development, I find myself relying on the online community to learn how to do the things I need for my job. I recently wanted to find a way to change my site’s theme to my custom theme. I found many tutorials on how to do so through the admin panel, but I wanted a way to make this change programmatically. That way new instances I install would have my new theme as the default, and I would not need to manually change it every time. As I could not find those instructions online, I humbly offer my findings here. Hopefully it will help someone!

Magento 2 Custom Product Type: A Briteskies Solution

One of our clients had a unique product type requirement that led to a custom Magento 2 solution. This client sells items that can be engraved and focuses specifically on memorializing those killed in combat or as victims of terror. The site has a database of names of those casualties, and this list of names serves as the main product type for the website.
