College kids across the country are heading back to school, and for the newly graduated it can be a time of reflection and recognition. Greg Crane's Magento Team Internship

It’s funny how everything works out. I thought I had everything figured out when I graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in May of this year. I thought finding a job would be incredibly easy, but it ended up being a challenge to find an entry level opportunity or a company that was willing to take on a fresh college graduate. I had some talks with a few companies but they did not pan out. The companies only ended up offering IT help desk or similar job opportunities; unfortunately nothing in the area that I wanted. I was starting to get discouraged. It was hard being a college grad and having to go bartend at a restaurant every night. I guess when you’re in school you tend to focus so much on graduation you don’t always put a ton of thought into how hard it can be to find a job, specifically one in development in my case. As a stroke of luck, a friend of my girlfriend mentioned something about this business called Briteskies and how awesome of a company it was. She mentioned this to me and I checked out the Briteskies website. I really liked what I saw, so I applied, and the rest is history.

Briteskies Spring Internship: It's a Wrap!

Posted by Kara Oldford

Before starting an internship, one always has expectations about what to expect and what the office environment will be like. As with any internship, you have that fear that perhaps you’ll be filing papers or delivering coffee! Rarely is it that you have an experience that surpasses your expectations. As I sit in the office during my last week at Briteskies, feeling bittersweet, I am left with a slew of memories and a checklist of new experiences.

When I first met Briteskies’ team members Gian and Matt at the Weatherhead School of Management Career Fair, they described the office atmosphere as being like a family. My only addition would be that it’s like a family, but way more fun. We worked hard, laughed often, and we talked about Corgis.  From my standpoint, that’s an ideal internship!

Although he is now a full-time employee, Matt Trimmer started at Briteskies as a summer intern. He was a recent Case Western Reserve University graduate and high school baseball coach when he heard about the availability from his college friend and Briteskies employee, Gian. Despite having a degree in economics and knowing next to nothing about the ecommerce industry, Matt dove head first into the position and learned along the way, with Gian as his mentor.

Summer in the Office: An Intern's Perspective

Posted by Content Maestro

August 23, 2012 | 1:00 PM

As I finished my sophomore year at Case, I had my eye on the goal that many young college students share: landing an internship that would help me gain experience in my field of study. As an accounting major, I was looking for a job in which I would be doing hands-on financial work in a professional setting. Opportunities are hard to come by in today’s job market, and luckily I was able to find a great one with Briteskies.
