I’m back! When I was offered the opportunity to work with Briteskies again I couldn’t say no.  From the company sponsored lunches to the seriously funny employees to the APA shelter across the way, I was ecstatic to be returning. I mean who doesn’t love a free lunch with a view of puppies? I returned to Briteskies with the impression I would continue to gain knowledge about different marketing techniques and further knowledge about programs such as HubSpot. However, I also learned about the day-to-day operations of a successful company.

The Real World Calls: Part 2

How so much has changed! Last summer I was fresh out of high school and had the opportunity to intern for the Briteskies Marketing Department. I must have done okay (or they were just desperate) because I was given another chance to intern with them this summer. With one year of college under my belt, I was anxious to show the Briteskies team everything I had learned at school and how much I had grown over the past year.

You know your internship is great when they throw a party on your 21st birthday. Okay, so the party wasn't for me, it was our brand launch, but still, I'm claiming it as my birthday party.

College kids across the country are heading back to school, and for the newly graduated it can be a time of reflection and recognition. Greg Crane's Magento Team Internship

It’s funny how everything works out. I thought I had everything figured out when I graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in May of this year. I thought finding a job would be incredibly easy, but it ended up being a challenge to find an entry level opportunity or a company that was willing to take on a fresh college graduate. I had some talks with a few companies but they did not pan out. The companies only ended up offering IT help desk or similar job opportunities; unfortunately nothing in the area that I wanted. I was starting to get discouraged. It was hard being a college grad and having to go bartend at a restaurant every night. I guess when you’re in school you tend to focus so much on graduation you don’t always put a ton of thought into how hard it can be to find a job, specifically one in development in my case. As a stroke of luck, a friend of my girlfriend mentioned something about this business called Briteskies and how awesome of a company it was. She mentioned this to me and I checked out the Briteskies website. I really liked what I saw, so I applied, and the rest is history.

Briteskies Spring Internship: It's a Wrap!

Posted by Kara Oldford

Before starting an internship, one always has expectations about what to expect and what the office environment will be like. As with any internship, you have that fear that perhaps you’ll be filing papers or delivering coffee! Rarely is it that you have an experience that surpasses your expectations. As I sit in the office during my last week at Briteskies, feeling bittersweet, I am left with a slew of memories and a checklist of new experiences.

When I first met Briteskies’ team members Gian and Matt at the Weatherhead School of Management Career Fair, they described the office atmosphere as being like a family. My only addition would be that it’s like a family, but way more fun. We worked hard, laughed often, and we talked about Corgis.  From my standpoint, that’s an ideal internship!
